So its been a while and kind of a lot has been going on…. I’ll stat with the most “exciting”
a few years ago, my school’s newspaper printed an article entitled Big Red Ambition: 161 Things Every Cornellian Should Do (http://www.cornell.edu/search/index.cfm?tab=facts&q=&id=1139). My friend, Bridget, and I decided before we graduate we will complete EVERYTHING on the list. Furthermore, we made a pact to complete a few tasks every week, by the end of our 2.5 remaining years we should be done. I will try to keep you guys updated on our adventures.
This week we completed like 4 or 5 things. Most notable was probably viewing a part of Cornell’s Rare Manuscript collection. I wasn’t really interested in the piece we saw, it was probably because I couldn’t read it, it was in French, but it was still pretty cool. I held in my hand a letter from the French Revolution. Can you imagine? I had a piece of history, over 200 years old, in my hands WITHOUT gloves! i should not have that kinda access! But on another note, we also apparently have a giant collection of porn. We asked about the rare manuscripts and the sweet old librarian lady tells us how we have a veyr extensive collection of porn ranging from gay/lesbian to S&m. by the time she told me it was very popular and lots of people view it for ”scholarly purposes” i could barely contain my laughter!
Anyways, the next cool thing we did (at least for me since I’m pretty big into music), by one of our libraries we have a stone walkway which is apparently musically tuned, I didn’t believe it a first but sure enough as i threw bunches of stones at the walkway, cling cling cling if i had more time/wasnt freezing my boys off I would’ve stayed and tried to make a tune. Hopefully, bridget will upload the video she took.
Actually, I won’t share the final funny one because I could probably get into some MAJOR trouble for it.
I feel like I had a lot more to say about this, but I don’t remember anymore but oh well it’ll probably come to me later so ill talk more. stay tuned for more adventures!
